Conspirare’s Craig Hella Johnson on Bach Motets

This weekend’s upcoming Conspirare concert, “Bach Plus: Elegant Craft, Ardent Expression,” at St. Martin’s Lutheran Church is one of many of the sublimely performed, diversely programmed concerts that the five-time grammy nominated choir is famous for. Conspirare’s conductor and artistic director, Craig Hella Johnson, joins us for a talk about why the Bach motets are some of the first pieces you should show your neighbor, what makes a choir transcendent, and how to put together a thoughtful concert program.

Original air date: Monday September 23rd, 2013 on Nuts and Bolts Music on KVRX in Austin.

Music featured: Lobet den Herrn, alle Heiden, BWV 230 – Monteverdi Choir
